An EEG hood is currently being evaluated by Ian Morrison (Neurologist) working for NHS Tayside, as part of the Neurology department laboratory-based epilepsy testing services.
This development could possibly allow epilepsy diagnostic services to continue safely during viral epidemics.
The SARUS-EEG diagnostics hood is similar in design to the CPR hoods, but is used electively in Neurology diagnostic laboratories.
It can be used by trained EEG diagnostics technicians as a way to undertake EEG epilepsy provocation (hyperventilation) testing during pandemics.
